Heavy-Unit-Load Conveyor System Zoomed
Below is presented the zoomed in display of the conveyor system for P&O
Cold Storage at Laverton II.
This warehouse features six stacker cranes, retrieving pallets from pallet
stands rising from the conveyors. In the diagram below (from the MS-DOS version
of the “Movement Controller”), the six cranes are shown
at the infeed/outfeed positions, with the pallet stands at the outfeeds raised
ready to accept pallets from the cranes, while those at the infeeds are lowered,
expecting pallets from the conveyor system.
The chains shown in blue are running, whilst those in red are in automatic
but currently stopped. The load in the picture has just transferred from
conveyor M12, which has now lowered, and has been detected by the first
photocell on conveyor M20.
This view of the conveyor system is panned using the cursor keys.
Manual control of the conveyors is achieved by typing ‘P’.
