This installation features two stacker cranes, with double reach tines, servicing a high rise store, and a moderate sized pallet conveyor system.

The conveyor system incorporates drop-rollers at the crane infeeds and outfeeds, alignment bars, and sizing stations.

The conveyor system services a single forklift infeed transferring loads of biscuits to the infeeds of the two cranes.

The two stacker cranes then locate these loads into the high rise.

Loads reaching the outfeeds of the two stacker cranes (retrieved from the high rise) are conveyed to the forklift outfeed.

Communication between the “Movement Controller” and the cranes is via an infra-red serial link.

Communication between the “Movement Controller” and the host computer system is via a serial link using a protocol designed specifically to suit the application.

All PLCs are Allen-Bradley.
